Year 6 Trip to Llanrug!
Hi all! Here you will find lots of lovely photos of the trip to Llanrug! We shall try to update this daily, so keep checking back to see what the children have been up to! All three groups took the trip over the Llanberis Pass this afternoon to try some weaseling, where you squeeze through gaps, climb up rocks and twist your body. All in a steady drizzle of course. Super first day - so proud of our bunch. Mr F, Mr M, Misses H, T and P.

Wednesday
Water, water everywhere! Safe to say that everyone took a real soaking today. The crew rafted across Llyn Gwynant in four boats [making sure they did their best to soak the others of course]. They then tackled the steep and fast flowing Dinas Gorge, overcoming slippy rocks, watefalls and each other! The afternoon finished with a raft back, where some thought it best to get in the lake - well why not! The evening was filled with a local walk with torches and stories.

Today, the pupils and staff from Birchen Coppice ventured underground at Rhiwbach mine. It was a tricky ascent to the entrance, but well worth it as everyone was in for a truly uniqure adventure! Flooded chambers were zip-wired across, pools were crossed by boat and big drops were negotiated by a long rope!

Friday
Tradition keeps returning the Coppice to Newborough Beach on Anglesey for the Friday finale each year and 2021 was no different. The wind was blowing a gale striaght in from the sea and the masses loved it. They were in the sea up to their knees and lapped up the waves - one or two even sat down! Football, collecting shells, dune jumping and just high jinks were the order of the day. Just the tonic.
A sad farewell was made to the centre and the staff at Arete. Huge thanks as ever to Gareth, Angie, Dave, Polly, Cameron, Carol and Annie amongst others. See you next year!
