MONDAY:
Good morning boys and girls! I hope you have a had a wonderful weekend!
This week we are carrying on with the story ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ by Julia Donaldson, hopefully you have listened to it lots and lots! Today you and your grown-ups or older siblings are going to draw a map of the story. Drawing pictures of the events and putting them in order. Here is my example for you.
Why don’t you start off by listening to the story again to refresh your memory? Then have a go at drawing and talking about the events in the story.
Let me know if you need any help, and don’t forget to keep in contact with us, and keep sending us pictures of your wonderful work or activities!

Remember to be independent in your thinking and use your phonic knowledge to write the words. We will be super happy if you write the word ladybird: "Laideebird", as this is phonetically decodable.
Remember to use your sound mat to help you to form the letters correctly.
- What are they wearing? E.g. "Hugh has a stripy top and Len has a blue top on." With your child's phonics knowledge this may look like this, "Hugh has a stripe top and Len has a bloo top on." This is wonderful!
- What colour hair and eyes do they have?
- How tall are they? How short are they?
- What have they done wrong? Why do you want them caught?

You are going to count the amount of spots on one side and then double it! That means draw the same amount of spots on the other side. You can then identify the total and say the number sentence. You can even try writing the number sentence!
Enjoy!

FRIDAY: Hi everyone, hope you have had a wonderful day! I’m in school again tomorrow, so here is tomorrow’s work.
Today you are going to make your own ladybirds, you can make your ladybird out of any materials you have at home e.g. clothes, paper, card, recycling. You are then going to describe your ladybird and write words or a sentence about it.
Here is mine: My ladybird is called Lily. She is red and has got 4 black spots. She eats aphids.
Here she is! Enjoy!
